A 3D hero without a 3D library

The obvious way to build an interactive 3D homepage is to reach for Three.js. We wrote roughly eight kilobytes of maths instead, saved about six hundred, and got sharper text out of it.

The backup tool that never backed anything up

A server kept warning that it could not check its own kernel status. Three days of chasing repositories and DNS later, the culprit was a backup plugin that had stored nothing in three months and was quietly poisoning the package manager every five minutes.
